Chocolate lovers, take note: tickets for the 14th Annual Lititz Chocolate Walk will go on sale tomorrow, and since tickets are limited and the event has sold out in advance in recent years, serious fans of chocolate should plan on getting tickets early. Tickets will go on sale online and at select merchants listed below beginning this Wednesday, July 1.
The event, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Lititz and referred to as a sophisticated “trick-or-treat for adults,” will take place on Saturday, October 10, and all money raised will go to support charities for children. As word spreads of the confectionary wares of featured chefs and local chocolatiers, guests seem drawn from further locales.
Ticketholders to the Lititz Chocolate Walk meander among the shops of local Lititz merchants who choose to host a confectionary stop in their shop. Cargill Cocoa, owner of Wilbur Chocolate, donates chocolate to each chef for the event.
While providing a boon to local businesses, the event’s focus is on fundraising for charities. Representatives of the Lititz Kiwanis Club were recently recognized at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. for the success and ingenuity of the charity event. The organization has raised over $ 400,000 for children’s charities through the Chocolate Walk.
This Kiwanis Club of Lititz Area celebrated their 20th anniversary this year as part of Kiwanis International, a worldwide organization devoted to helping the children of the world one child one community at a time. The local chapter contributes to many charities who rely on support from the Chocolate Walk. This year, Kiwanis International will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
