Elizabethtown edged Warwick 41-38 tonight as the Warwick girls basketball team came up just a few points shy after a promising start to their home game in Lititz.

Warwick led the game 14-13 at the end of the first quarter, but a dismal second quarter in which Warwick scored only a solitary point hurt their chances of a victory. E-town’s Lonardi led E-town in the second quarter as she racked up 9 of their 15 points before the half ended.

Katie Hipple led the Warrior scoring in the third quarter with six as Warwick outscored E-town 10-6. Warwick led the scoring in the final quarter thanks to Rylee Derr’s 9 points, but was unable to overcome the deficit from the low-scoring second quarter. They outscored Etown 13-7 in the final quarter, but still trailed when the buzzer sounded.

High scorers for E-town were Lonardi, a standout with 22 points for the night, Orban with 6 points, and a trio of players with 4 points each.

In the JV game, E-town defeated Warwick 25-22.
