Borough to Hear from Concerned Citizens about Pool Construction, Facility Management, and Fiscal Concerns

Members of the public with opinions about the Lititz recCenter’s first year managing the Lititz Springs Pool, pool construction, and the future of the pool are expected to turn out tonight at the Lititz Borough Council meeting to share their views on what should be the next for the community pool.

While in August the Borough indicated it would schedule a public hearing on the matter, it opted instead to allow public comment at the start of the regularly scheduled borough meeting tonight.

Some in the community have been critical of the recCenter’s operation of the pool, including a new policy mandated by the recCenter to ask the marital status of those seeking daily admission to the swimming facility. In August, recCenter management confirmed that the policy was instituted to gather data that would identify and classify pool users so that they could be targeted with future recCenter marketing.

The meeting begins tonight in Borough Chambers at 7 p.m., 7 S. Broad St., Lititz.
