Launches New Official Facebook Page, Twitter Account

By 2:18p.m. today, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf had only 94 “Likes” on his new official Facebook page listing him as a government official for the first time in his career.

The number of “likes” has continued to grow for the Democrat from York who was sworn in today as the 47th Governor of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg on a chilly day outside the State Capitol. Wolf has never before held public office.

Gov. Wolf, who made extensive use of social media during his campaign for election, has only two posts and photographs featured so far on the new gubernatorial Facebook page. His new official Twitter account, @GovernorTomWolf, almost doubled its followers in just fifteen minutes today from about 900 followers to close to 1800. At press time for this article, his Twitter account features only one tweet, a quote from his inaugural speech today:

“If we come together with a sense of shared purpose, we can build the better future PA deserves. Now, let’s get started.” – Gov. Tom Wolf

Wolf and his staff have continued to tweet via his official Twitter account, @WolfForPa, adding photos and quotes from his inauguration speech today.

Online, the gubernatorial transition is reflected in the state’s official home page, pa.gov, where Gov. Wolf’s official portrait now greets visitors to the site.  There are no press releases posted yet.
