A Lititz woman struck by a vehicle Monday evening while walking her dog in Lititz died early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the Lititz Borough police department issued this afternoon.

Karen D. Grover, 55, died after life-saving efforts, including CPR, were administered by emergency-responders at the scene and following surgery at Lancaster General Hospital.

Grover was struck about 5:45 p.m. as she crossed the 400 block of Woodcrest Avenue. Edward T. Blazer, 83, of Myerstown, was driving the vehicle that struck the pedestrian. The collision occurred in the southbound lane of Woodcrest Avenue, where the posted speed limit is 35 MPH.

An investigation by Lititz Borough police is ongoing. As of the time of publication, no charges have been filed.

Blazer stopped at the crash scene immediately and cooperated fully with police.

Grover’s dog sustained injuries and survived after treatment at an animal hospital.
