A Scarecrow Contest will highlight tonight’s 2nd Friday in downtown Lititz, in the wake a torrential storm that passed through ahead of the event.

Local merchants participating in the contest are open tonight, hoping to woo customers and win votes for their festive and unique scarecrows.

Beers + Hoffman Architects designed an entry into the scarecrow contest, and it looks like they’ve done their job to a “t.”

“We have a slightly scary one named ‘T-Square Crow,’” said Melissa Landis, a partner at the firm. “If you are out and about tonight, stop by to take a look!”

Not only can you vote for their scarecrow if you stop by at 55 N. Water St., above ABC, but you can also enjoy Lego night there as well. Compete for a building prize for your design, or just have some fun.

Weather permitting, there will also be various musicians playing at businesses around town. Some merchants will offer specials, and stay open late for this monthly event.
