‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’ Sails Friday at WHS
The much-anticipated arrival of the Scarlet Pimpernel to the Warwick High School Performing Arts Center is set to take place this Friday, when the musical play set during the French Revolution opens for a weekend run. But just who is this mysterious figure known as the Scarlet Pimpernel, and what is he doing in England? Come and discover the intrigue, identity, and purpose of the elusive aristocrat’s secretive mission.

The play is directed by Debra Kline-Smith and features almost 100 Warwick High School students in the cast, crew, and orchestra pit.
“We are very excited to bring you this show of adventure. We (at Warwick) take great pride in producing top-notch musical experiences for our audiences every year,” said Debra Kline-Smith, who produced and vocally directed the play. She has been assisted by Drama Director Jill Gagliano, Assistant Drama Director Alison Fund, Choreographer, Regina Bowe, Orchestra Directors Sherry Kline and Ann Ahlers.
“The students, directional staff of this show, and the Warbler parent group have been working hard, putting in countless hours, and we are looking forward to three great community performances of this wonderful musical,” said Kline-Smith.
Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Warwick Performing Arts Center lobby between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2014, and will be available for purchase 75 minutes before each show time, based on availability. Ticket prices range from $8-12.
