When Keri Atland arrived to work last Friday morning at Green Meadow Farms, it was bitterly cold. Low temperatures and gusty winds had driven the real-feel temps into bone-chilling negative numbers. In a hay-filled stall she discovered not one, but twin female lambs born overnight into a frozen world.

Atland dubbed the twins Elsa and Anna, aptly naming the pair that arrived into tundra-like cold conditions with a nod to the animated sisters of Disney’s Frozen fame. They joined sister Lilly, born the previous day, and mother Joy. Mother and babies are all doing well, according to Atland.

But how do you tell the twins apart?

“The totally black lamb is Anna, and the one with a little white and black is Elsa,” said Atland to LititzDailyNews.com by email. Atlant is the Volunteer Coordinator for Green Meadow Farm.

Green Meadow Farm is located in Leola, and is a farm with a heart for helping children in Lancaster County.

“We are a non-profit horse riding facility who offers free horse riding lessons to children who are struggling emotionally and/or behaviorally,” said Atland.

Green Meadow Farm focuses on helping youth by pairing them with a one horse and one leader, according to their website. The organization hopes to bring healing into the lives of those who participate through contact with horses and positive experiences on the farm.
