Parking lots like the one at The Shoppes at Kissel Village looked more like an outdoor skating rink last night in the wake of the latest winter storm that dropped sleet and freezing rain on the area yesterday. Crews worked overnight to clear areas for customers at local businesses.

Sleet and freezing rain that fell on Lititz yesterday and froze into sheets of solid ice is still having an impact this morning, causing a slippery commute. For current road conditions, view the LIVE PENNDOT TRAFFIC CAMERAS.

Several accidents were reported throughout the county and on the Pennsylvania Turnpike yesterday as PennDot crews circulated to treat roads. The pebble-like sleet quickly clung to below-freezing surfaces yesterday, and upwards of a half inch of frozen precipitation accumulated in local parking lots.  The sleet was followed by a round of freezing rain.

Temperatures in Lititz are hovering around the freezing mark and are expected to rise to a high of just 34 degrees today. Uncleared and untreated surfaces are ice-covered and extremely slick.

As of 8 a.m. this morning, there are no reported power outages in Lititz Borough or Warwick Township, according to PPL Electric. If you are without power in Lancaster County, you may report an outage via the PPL Electric Utilities County Map.
