Warwick School District wants the school year to start September 2, before Labor Day, but the current collective bargaining agreement with the teacher’s union requires a post-Labor Day start, which would mean September 9.  The teachers union has not brought the matter to a full vote, citing the need for district officials to also consider other non-financial changes to the CBA in order to move forward with any changes to the current agreement. According to the Warwick Education Association, the union for Warwick teachers, the district wants to limit changes to start date only. Without a memorandum of understanding, school for Warwick students will start on September 9.  Should Warwick start before Labor Day?
