Apr. 17-19- School Musical- Linden Hall Presents “HONK,” a musical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling. April 17 and 18th at 7:30 p.m., April 19 at 2 p.m. Linden Hall Auditorium, 212 E. Main St. All seating is reserved. Apr. 18- Chase Your Tail 5K Run/ 1 Mile Woof Walk- Have a tail-wagging good time running or walking in the first annual event that benefits A Tail to Tell, Inc. Puppy Mill Rescue. 5K starts at 8:30 a.m., walk begins at 9:15 a.m. Elizabeth Township Community Park, 116 E 28th Division Highway (Rt 322) in Brickerville, PA. Apr. 18- Democratic Awards- The Spring Awards Banquet of the Lancaster Democratic Committee will honor Louise B. Williams with a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Jean A. Martin, Democrat of the Year. General Sutter Inn. 6 p.m. $50. Info and Tickets: Lancaster Dems Banquet

Apr. 20- Red Rose Open House/Concert- Hit a high note by attending the free open house of the a cappella group Red Rose City Women’s Show Chorus and brief concert. The local ladies specialize in barbershop style music and their group is a Sweet Adelines International. chapter, and are always seeking new members. 7:30 p.m. Lititz UMC Social Hall, 201 Market St., Lititz. Apr. 25- High Tea to Benefit Lititz Public Library- Fond of scones and tomes? Then come to High Tea served by the Jane Austen Society of Lancaster to benefit the local library. Enjoy salad, scones with Devonshire cream, tea sandwiches, fruit, pastries and tea served by society members dressed in period costumes from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets: $21.50, available at the library, 651 Kissel Hill Rd. Apr. 26- Rock Lititz Bike Race and Block Party- Rock around the block at the return of the two-wheeled race through downtown Lititz. Apr. 30- Wellness Fair- I screen, you screen, we all screen for free at the 4th Annual Luther Acres Wellness Fair, offering free health screenings (bone density, blood pressure, 3D spinal and varicose veins) and more. May 2- Clean-Up Day- If you haven’t used it in a year, get rid of it. Sell your spring cleaning cast-offs at the Lititz Women of Today’s annual Clean-Up Day at Bonfield Elementary Parking Lot, 101 N. May 2- Brunnerville Community Day- Don’t run through Brunnerville. Instead, saunter through the shops and stop to eat from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Soup and bake sale 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Brunnerville United Methodist Church. Call 717-625-0570.

May 3- Bike to Benefit Cancer Patients- For the third year, Bike Towards the Cure will sponsor a benefit ride at 7:30 a.m. at Speedwell Forge, 255 W. Brubaker Valley Road. More info, including race lengths and options, go to biketowardsthecure.org.
May 3- Plant Exchange- You don’t need a green thumb to exchang3 plants at the annual Lititz Historical Foundation’s event. 1:30 p.m. Mary Oehme Gardens, behind the Lititz Musuem, 137-145 E. Main St., Lititz. The plants to be exchanged must be perennials and each plant must have an identification tag and be placed in a container for transportation.For more info:
May 8- 2nd Friday Downtown Lititz- Downtown Lititz buzzes with energy, activity and entertainment when merchants keep their doors open late from 5 to 9 p.m. Vendors, specials, and different offerings each month. Go to lititzpa.com for details about the May event.
May 9- US Postal Service Food Drive- All you have to do help Stamp Out Hunger is to place bagged, non-perishable food items out for pickup by postal carriers on Saturday.

May 9- Charity Chicken BBQ/Dance Festival/Craft and Vendor Fair– This may be the most ambitious combination of events ever featured in our community calendar. The Occupational Development Center (ODC) will host their 58th BBQ, 10th Craft/Vendor Fair (over 60 vendors), and 2nd Dance Festival on Saturday, May 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 640 Martha Avenue, Lancaster. Rain or shine, you can make the future brighter for those with developmental disabilities in Lancaster County. Free entry. Puppet shows, dance performances, and more.
May 15-16- Warwick MiniTHON- An all-nighter to make all the difference for the Four Diamonds Fund, held at Warwick High School from May 15 at 5 p.m. until morning of May 16. Info: 717-626-3600.
May 18- Benefit Golf Tournament- The Lancaster AMBUCS are teaming up with the Occupational Development Center to host their 9th Annual Golf Tournament at the Four Seasons Golf Course to benefit adults with developmental disabilities. 11:30 a.m. registration, 12:30 shotgun start to the scramble tournament, wtih dinner at 4:30 p.m. Cost: $100 per person includes round of golf, cart, dinner, and prizes. May 30- Rock-n-Glow 5K- For the third year in a row, runners will be aglow in downtown Manheim for the Rock-n-Glow 5K run. Register at Rock-n-Glow.
