WATCH Lexi Enck Score Her 1000th Point (VIDEO BELOW STORY)

Lititz Christian School basketball standout Lexi Enck, who scored her 1000th career point this season, has been selected to play in the PA vs. Maryland All Star Basketball Weekend, a showcase for East Coast players that is in its 39th year.  The event takes place this weekend at Harrisburg Christian School.

“I’m very honored to be selected for the all-star team,” said Lenck, a senior.  “I have been able to play with an amazing team at Lititz Christian School who has supported me, helped me, and encouraged me to be good enough to be selected.”

Enck was selected to play on the Pennsylvania Team in the All Star game on Friday, March 27 against players from Maryland for her outstanding accomplishments following a nomination by LititzDailyNews.com editor Lynn Rebuck.

Tournament director Mike Gaffey didn’t hesitate to add Enck to the roster after learning of her accomplishments, including joining the 1000-career-point-club.

Through her participation, Enck will become eligible to win a $300 scholarship that will be randomly awarded to a player both nights of the tournament.

Enck has been accepted into the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, where she will enroll in their dental hygiene program.

“At this point, she is not planning on playing sports in college as she wants to focus on her studies,” said her mother, Sue Enck. But will coaches in attendance at the all-star game try to convince her otherwise?

Sometimes the competition in the stands among coaches vying for top prospects to fill out their rosters is just as fierce as competition on the court.

Lexi also participated in volleyball during high school, which, according to her mother, is her favorite sport.

Those who wish to see Lexi play one last time in her Lititz Christian uniform can head to Harrisburg Christian on Friday night, where the $8 admission will get you in to see all the games that evening. Players from many local districts will be participating, including Warwick’s Damian Soto and Nate Miller.  For more information, visit the PAHoops.org website.
